We make a lot of goals and resolutions this time of year. We are going to make more money. We are going to save more of the money we make. We are going to work out more and complain less. We are going to travel and find love and get promoted. These goals are all valid, but they miss something important. How do we want to look and how do we want to feel while we’re running around accomplishing our other goals?
That promotion won’t be quite as satisfying if you discover bald spots and skin breakouts due to stress. Finding love won’t make you love yourself. Making beauty goals isn’t vain. In fact, it brings more fullness to your other resolutions. Here’s our three step guide to setting beauty goals for the new year.
Think back to last year. What worked for your beauty regimen? Did you discover a new product or process that you want to continue? When did you feel the most gorgeous last year? Can you bring elements of that moment into your everyday? And finally, what about the previous year needs to stay in the previous year? Maybe a bad hairstyle or a face wash that didn’t work for your skin. Whatever it is, let it go.
Now fast-forward to the end of this year. How will you look? How will you feel? You might be more energized. You might picture hair that’s fuller or skin that’s clearer. Build a mental picture of the person you’re going to become.
Bridge the gap
If you’re like most of us, there’s a gap between the you who is reading this and the you that will exist at the end of the year. There’s a distance between current and future state. What do you need to get from here to there? It might be a product. Our oil and our whole foods vitamin work wonders. It might be a lifestyle change. Do you have to cut out a certain food that doesn’t agree with your skin? You might have to do both. Write out what needs to happen in order for you to look and feel your best by the end of the year.
There isn’t always a set formula when it comes to achieving your beauty goals, so it’s important to check in with yourself regularly. You can assess your progress throughout the year by asking, “Do I look and feel more or less like the future me I envisioned?” Then change course accordingly. And don’t forget, we’re here to help. Stay tuned for even more Shedavi products that will help you make your new year goals a reality.
