Happy new year ladies! I know every year we love to tick off a long list of resolutions for the year. Eat healthier. Exercise more. Save money. You know how we like to do, ladies. This year, I want to bring to your attention the potential to do a different type of resolution. One that involves one of the most precious things that we own: our hair. It is a well-known fact that your hair has the potential to make or break your entire look. In fact, a bomb hair style can make you feel like you’re on top of the world! In the same breath, a bad hair day can have you feeling like the monster from the Lord of the Rings. So, what is there to do? The answer: make yourself a new hair resolution. It can be something big or something minor. We at Shedavi just want for you to be happy with your hair decisions. In fact, we have surveyed about 30 women just like you who also have big dreams for their hair in 2018. Take a look below to check out some new hair resolutions for the 2018 year and beyond!
Growing hair out and length retention.
This seemed to be a common goal among the majority of the woman who were asked about their hair goals. Whether it to be to get it to bra strap length in six months or to just get more length in general, a lot of ladies want to have longer tresses. One woman was very specific in her response by saying that she wanted to incorporate the use of rice water into her hair care regimen to promote length. Stay tuned ladies, we’re going to follow this and see if we can whip an article that talks about this method.
Again, this was also a biggie among everyone that was interviewed, and why wouldn’t it be? When your hair is healthy, that makes it easy to manage and it also brings about length. Some women said that they wanted to get their hair trimmed more frequently, so that their hair will grow quicker. As backwards as this may sound ladies, trims actually do promote both healthy hair and longer hair. Do not confuse a trim with a cut. If you get your hair trimmed enough, your beautician should not be cutting more than ½ an inch to a full inch of your hair at a time. If she’s having to cut more, you’re either not getting frequent enough trims or you need to reevaluate your haircare routine.
There were some women who had a goal of keeping their hair cut short, and not allow it to get too long to where it is less manageable. Believe it or not, everyone does not want to have long hair! Short, sassy, and healthy is also on the minds of some women this year. One woman said that she wanted healthier hair just so that she did not have to wear wigs or extensions anymore to supplement her look. Another says that she wants for her edges to be stronger and fuller. Lastly in this category, there were a few women who said that they wanted to clean their hair more frequently. Yes, some of us can stretch out those wash days!
Try New Products
Using specific products to keep hair healthy was also a big resolution seen among ladies. A few women expressed that they wanted to take their vitamins as recommended, so that they can actually reap the benefits that are described on the container. Others said that they wanted to find a good moisturizer to keep their hair hydrated on a daily basis and in between washes. Oftentimes, women can get a little discouraged when they use a product and it does not have a good reaction with their hair. As a result, they just stop using it. Our advice: keep trying. Just because one thing doesn’t work does not mean that every moisturizing product will have that effect on your tresses.
Styling and dying hair was also a big goal for this year. While some women had aspirations of getting their blonde hair an even brighter shade of blond, other women had the goal of getting the hair healthy enough to wear it could actually take dye. Dying your hair can be fun! Just make sure that you keep up with your dyed hair. Lack of maintenance could cause it to fall out.
The final hair goal trends that we noticed among respondents was confidence in their natural hair. If you’re natural, you know how hard it can be to feel good about your tight kinks in a world that amps up long straight hair. Other naturals said that they wanted more versatility in their natural hairstyles, and wanted to explore more possibilities this year.
So, what is the point of this post ladies? You’re not alone in your haircare goals. There are women around the world who have big plans for their hair in 2018, and we at Shedavi want you to know that we got your back. We will spend the year providing you with a variety of articles that will help you to keep your new hair resolutions for 2018. Do you have some goals that we didn’t mention?
