Two Weeks In... Bianca's Hair Journey

Posted on

Hello Natural Hair Divas! I’m ready to update you on my hair journey starring Shedavi Vitamins and Elixir Oil. Before I go into what’s been going on with me since I began my journey, it’s important that you understand a few things about me first.  For starters, I have a scalp condition in which my hair starts itching like I’m a mad woman about 3-5 days after I wash it.  Think of it like super dry scalp on steroids.  Apparently, it came about as a result of not drying my scalp properly when I used to wear sew-ins.  Let this be a lesson to you ladies: make sure you take good care of your hair and scalp when you have these protective styles in.  You don’t want to end up regretting it later!

So, with that being said, let’s fast forward to a few weeks ago before I started taking the Shedavi products.  Remember the red hair that I told you I had in the back of my head?  Well, it slowly but surely has been breaking off.  Because my hair had not been straightened in a while, I didn’t even notice it. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed out that so much of my hair was gone and it looked like my hair hadn’t grown at all in a year (looking at it from the back anyway). So, after getting my hair blown out, I went ahead and just got a trim so that I can start fresh and really see what the Shedavi can do.

As you can see above, my hair is very fine to the point that you can almost see straight through it at times.  I have a lot of hair on my head, but the strands aren’t thick at all.  I hope that these products can help change that for me quickly!

So, two days after I got my trim, I started using the Shedavi products. As far as first impressions go, I could not have been happier.  The ingredient list is extensive, and just a simple Google search reveals that each one does in fact have a positive impact on your hair and body health.  If you’re like me and care about what you’re putting into your body, this is a huge deal.  Also, the products are completely vegan, so you know that it doesn’t contain anything that can harm you.  Bravo Shedavi!

Let’s start by talking about the Elixir.  It is a moisturizing oil that has a nice earthy smell to it.  It’s much thinner than castor oil, but thicker than water if that makes sense.  Because of its light weight, you can easily cover your hair with it every day without worrying about it leaving your hair greasy. The amount that comes in the bottle is more than enough to cover my entire scalp every night.  Every few days, I work it into my hair, particularly on the tips (trying to eliminate breakage). I’ve been using it for two solid weeks, and I have not even made a dent in the bottle.  Definitely worth every single penny!

One of the things that I noticed is how soft my hair felt after using it for only three days.  My hair may be fine, but it also can be very rough to the touch at times.  Putting just a dime sized amount into my hair before a roller set makes my hair look healthy. With it being so lightweight, my hair still has movement even after I put it in. On top of looking healthy, the Elixir also helped to aid my itchy scalp.  For me, this is a huge relief considering that I usually have to use a thicker oil or medicated shampoo in order to make it stop itching.  I’m pretty thrilled at the fact that the Elixir was able to do the trick!

Next, we can talk about the vitamins that are meant to nourish your body internally.  Because they have so many natural ingredients, I highly recommend that you drink a full cup of water at minimum each time you take one.  The first time I took it with a little milk (I know I don’t follow good directions), and let’s just say that my stomach did not agree with me that well. When the directions say to drink water, do yourself a favor and follow the directions.  Apart from the excess flatulence I experienced from not reading properly, the other side effects have been nothing short of positive.  My hair is currently in a protective style at the moment, so I will not be doing a length check until next month.  However, I did notice that my skin is noticeable clearer and more vibrant.  I’ve always had long nails, so it’s difficult to say whether or not I have had any changes in nail growth; however, I plan on taking before and after pictures to check up on any potential growth that may come.

So, for my two week check-in, let’s do a quick summary of what I noticed about myself.

-Hair is visibly healthier and feels softer to the touch

-Scalp is not as itchy; also, has not flaked quite as much

-Skin is noticeably brighter and healthier (even received compliments from my I-notice-everything-because-I’m-nosey grandmother)

-No negative side effects from taking the vitamins

I have had an overwhelmingly good experience so far with the products.  Because I want to see how well the Shedavi Vitamins and Elixir do by themselves, I’ve severely limited the amount of other things that I use at the same time.  It’s hard to tell what the distinguishing factor is when you have good results if you’re using a lot of different things at once.  Therefore, I can say without question that the Shedavi products are the cause of the recent changes in my hair and skin. Over the course of the next month, I plan to continue using strictly these two products and also trying the inversion method to see if we can help the growing process just a little.  ‘Til next time hair divas!
