Awards Season Hair

Posted on

Thank God for awards season. Each year we get three full months of awards shows that provide hair and fashion inspiration, as well as topics of conversation, for the entire year.  From Best Picture mishaps at the Oscars to Beyonce’s show-stopping performance at the Grammys, the 2017 awards season was one we won’t soon forget.

Now it’s your chance to be unforgettable.  Make the world your red carpet with SHEDAVI’s top four favorite looks:

Can we talk about how fabulous Tracee Ellis Ross looked? A dress that hugged her curves in all the right places. Rings that you can see from miles away. Her loosely textured ponytail had just enough pizzazz to be interesting while letting the rest of her look be the stars of the show. You can achieve a similar look by doing a bantu knot out and then slicking back the front of your hair.

The Knowles Sisters at the Grammy After Party

Technically these could be two different posts, but we couldn’t resist sharing the Knowles sisters together. They represent the wide spectrum of #blackgirlmagic. Solange’s free form afro is a work of art all its own, and Beyonce’s long, straight look is a classic. Moral of the story? Love your hair and its versatility. Rock it in the style that best fits your vibe. People will love you for it.

Taraji P. Henson at the Oscars

We are here for Taraji. P. Henson’s red carpet look. She took the femme fatale style and made it all her own. Her cut and color highlight her amazing cheekbones. Take a closer look and you’ll see how the warm brown draws a subtle map for your eye, telling you exactly where to focus. If Taraji has taught us anything, it’s the power of a great dye job. Inspired? Maybe it’s your turn to experiment with color.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Old Hollywood meets modern glamour. Teyonah Parris’ full bodied hair is a showstopper. The side swept bangs and the curls are artfully styled around her face so that one of the first things you notice is her smile. And the length! We can’t confirm whether this look is achieved with only Teyonah’s own hair, but we can confirm that SHEDAVI products will help you get fuller and longer hair.

You’ve got the inspiration. What look will you create next?
