Give Thanks - It's Good for You

Halloween is over. We’ve put our costumes away, but we’re still nibbling on leftover candy. It seems likes every year, stores put out Christmas decorations earlier and earlier, sometimes before Halloween even happens. The temptation is to skip over Thanksgiving and put all of our attention into Christmas, but giving thanks is one of the best things we can do for our inner and outer beauty.

It’s no secret that the holiday season is stress-filled.We’re working extra so that we can afford the nicest gifts possible for the people we love. We’re running from event to event--office parties, children’s concerts, and fundraisers. We’re spending more time with our whole family, including the family that we don’t quite get along with. It’s supposed to be a time of joy and gladness, but all of that busyness takes a toll on our bodies.

We’re doing ourselves a disservice when we skip into a season of go, go, go instead of pausing  to give thanks. And, if we’re not careful, the overwhelm of the holiday season can counteract the positive benefits of our beauty routine. Our hair & scalp growth elixir and hair growth vitamins are extremely effective, but they’re less beneficial if we’re running on empty.

Stress is a major contributing factor when it comes to breakouts. It can also dry out your skin and increase its redness. Additionally, it negatively impacts digestion, so the good-for-us vitamins don’t get absorbed, weakening our hair and nails.

Our lifestyle can completely unravel all of the effort we put into nourishing and maintaining gorgeous hair, skin, and nails. Stress is the truly enemy of beauty and peace, but don’t be discouraged. Giving thanks is the key. Gratitude has been shown to help people better handle stress. It gives us a better outlook on life so that we’re able to handle both the good and the bad.

So let’s choose not to overlook the spirit of Thanksgiving this year. Research shows that gratitude makes us both healthier and happier, and we can start by creating new habits and traditions. Count blessings at the end of each day. (Bonus points for keeping a journal.) Make your family share what they are most thankful for.  Gratitude is ultimate beauty booster. It’s time for our gratitude glow up.
