How to Maintain Blowouts & Blowout Tips
One of the most commonly misunderstood hairstyles is that of the blowout. For some, it’s simply a means for getting your hair trimmed evenly. For others, it’s a way to take a break from the curls and switch up their look with smoother, less frizzy styles. Whatever the reason for getting your blowout, one thing always remains constant—you want to keep your hair blown out for as long as humanly possible. What’s the point of taking the time to get a blow out if it’s not going to last you longer than a couple of days? Don’t worry sis, we got you. There are a handful of things you can do to prolong your blowouts, and we’re going to share them with you below.
Blow Out Tip #1: Utilize rollers.
Believe it or not, using roller will help prolong your blowouts. The larger the roller, the straighter your hair will stay. If you do decide to use rollers for your blowout, make sure you know what you want the end goal to be with your hair. In other words, if you want your curls to fall out after a day or two, then you really shouldn't use any products that will leave your tresses feeling rough or hard.
Blow Out Tip #2: Can’t go wrong with a wrap.
Just like when you get a silk press, wrapped your hair around your head and securing with bobby pins is an excellent way to prolong your blow outs. Make sure you use a wide tooth comb or a denman brush to do your wrap to make it easier on yourself. Use a little Shedavi Iconic Hair + Scalp Growth Elixir Oil to keep the frizz tamed .
Blow Out Tip #3: Wrap your hair at night.
Now when I say wrap your hair this time, I mean that you need to keep it protected. The quickest way to ruin a good blow out is to let it do its own thing while you’re asleep. Be proactive and use a scarf to keep your hair tucked away while you’re getting your beauty rest.
Blow Out Tip #4: Less is more when it comes to products
This might be the most important tip I can give you when it comes to blow outs. The key to keeping your blow out fresh and your hair flowing freely is to keep it as light as possible. If you put a lot of heavy products into your hair, then you risk it getting heavy and your blow out looking a mess. Use lightweight products like what you can find in the Grow + Hydrate + Restore Everything Set.
Blow Out Tip #5: Pin curls work too
When in doubt, use pin curls to prolong your blow outs. Unlike rollers, pin curls lie flat on your head and can be put in by using bobby pins. If you’re looking for something that’s easier to sleep in, then pin curls are your best option. Your curl will probably be a bit tighter, but depending on how thick your hair is, you can get a very interesting style to rock for a few days.
