What to do when a hair product doesn't work for your hair!

We’ve all had it happen. We go to the store and eagerly purchase the product that is recommended. We head home to try the product, heads filled with dreams of how amazing our hair will look when we’re finished. This will be a turning point in our hair story.

We apply the product, and our hair just doesn’t like it. Maybe it leaves a film or makes the curls go limp. Maybe it brings out a frizziness in your hair that you didn’t even know was possible. Worse yet, it might look fine when you leave the house and then slowly devolve throughout the day.

We’ve discovered a product that just isn’t a fit for our hair. So what do we do in those situations?

Stop using the product. It should go without saying, but sometimes it’s hard to let go of a product in which you’ve invested your time and your emotions. If it helps, try to view it as taking a break rather than stopping forever. Let your hair rest. You can try the product again in a couple of weeks. If it doesn’t work out on the next try, give the product to a deserving friend.

Start with a clean slate. It’s easiest to re-style your hair when you wash all of the products out and start fresh. Depending on your hair type, you may want to use a clarifying shampoo, do a co-wash, or a combination of both. Massage our oil into your scalp to promote growth and to add a moment of relaxation to what can be a stressful situation. Then you can begin again with new products. It’s a little extra work, but your hair will thank you.

Play detective. Look at the ingredients list. What ingredients does the product have in common with the other products that you use? What ingredients are different? Do an online search to see how other people’s hair reacted to the product. You’ll discover tips, tricks, and alternative products that may work better with your hair.

There’s no better feeling than finding a product that works like magic in your hair, but it can take a few failed attempts to find your perfect fit. Do you have a story of a new product gone wrong? Share it in the comments below!

Hello. So I’ve been takin the SHEDAVI vitamin and using the elixir since February 10, 2018 I know it’s only been 10 days but I’m curious when I should start seeing results or if I’ll start seeing results. Before I purchased the product I seen a lot of really great testimonials and honesty those testimonials are why I bought the product. I want to achieve thicker hair. Is there a specific way that I should be taking the vitamin like with a certain drink? or a specific routine to work the elixir into my hair? Any tips of any kind would to help get results?

Hello I recently purchased and started using the Shedavi bundle, and I’m eagerly awaiting the results, however I have a question.
My hair is in Distress. I’m not sure if it’s a combination of the meds that I’m on, or from heat damage, along with hormones and or stress. I haven’t had relaxer in my hair for years now but I don’t wear it natural. I don’t wrap my hair every night to sleep and I use the curling iron everyday and it breaks after reaching a certain length. I’d like to stop using the curling iron altogether so I’d like to know if that’s what I have to do see maximum results. Do I have to wear my hair natural? which by the way is very tight curls when I wash it. I’d love to wear it curly as my husband loves it that way, but I’ve never had the courage to do it since I’d like for it to be longer. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Sincerely,
    Cherise

I also wish to know if you must use both products together? Due to some medications I currently take I may not be able to take the vitamins.
